SciGlass : Detailed Features and Pathways : Selection of Tables

Data in SciGlass are arranged into tables containing property values from published sources. By forming a query of complex conditions (criteria) the user receives back a list of tables with experimental data satisfying the query conditions and details of experimental results. The user can select any property unit(s) from the proposed list for data display or look at the data in the form given in the original source. Glass compositions can be expressed in molar, atom or weight percent, or in molar/weight fractions used in the original data. In the header of each table the user finds the information about the methods and procedure of glass syntheses, sample preparation and property measurements as well as references to all publications where the author(s) presented the data included in the table.

Example of a Query

This results in the following list of tables:

Multi-table Selection

One can either display a selected table or mark several tables in the list and display them as follows:

Additional Options

Data from the tables may be then plotted or exported.

The graphs and tables produced and displayed on the screen can be printed or copied to the Clipboard, saved as ASCII files, or placed into an Excel spreadsheet directly from the Clipboard. There is a Print Preview option in SciGlass which enables the user to control the appearance of the print output.

The user can save the current query conditions by assigning a name to the query. The dated list of all saved queries appears in the top of the Selection of Tables dialog box.
